What is it?
The Abraham Lincoln Readers' Choice Awards is an Illinois high school reading challenge designed to encourage high school students to read for pleasure and to become lifelong readers. The award is sponsored by ISLMA (Illinois School Library Media Association) and administered by the ALHSBA steering committee.
Each school year, ISLMA releases a Book List of 22 titles that are chosen by Illinois high school students, teachers, and librarians. Students who read 4 of the 22 titles may cast their vote for their favorite title, and the book that receives the most votes is announced as the recipient of the Abraham Lincoln Award.
Copies of each book are available in LRC.
